Hepatitis A jab for 2 year olds

I'm still unsure if I want to bring my girl for the Hep A jab. I am just worried at her reaction when she reach the doctor's office or when she sees the doctor, she will cry even before the doctor touches her. She's 2 now and I know what she's capable of doing. I am also worried about the fever that comes after jabs and all the side effects that it might have on her.

I mean she's now a happy chirpy 2 year old and I didn't want to spoil it by giving her an optional jab that 'might' make her sick or feel unwell.

What say you? Would you recommend me to go for it or should I wait a little longer?

Ermayum, doctor surely say its good and have to la cause they earn more money ma. But she did tell me its optional la. To me its not so much about the money, its more about how terrified she would be and how terrified I would be with the jab. I sakit hati to traumatise her again. Compulsory jabs no choice la.

And yes, we're supposed to give one at 2 and then another jab 6 months later.

Jabs are never easy! I hate jabs too. Especially the fever part.
I don't think I gave Ryan any optional jabs. As for Ally, the only optional jab i gave was Rotavirus.
I know, its confusing. But if u feel you wanna protect your daughter further, then go for it.
Is there an age limit for this Hep A jab?

My girl just completed her Hep A jab, she didn't show any discomfort after the jabs. The reason why we wanted her to have it simply due to her bad habit of putting her hands into the mouth, lol! (The easiest way of contact Hepatitis A)

Renaclaire, the compulsory jab is Hep B. Hep A is optional. And yes there is another jab when they reach an older age, I think when they start school (cant remember).

Leona, I am not sure if there's age limit but I know even at our age, if we didn't have the antibody, the doctor will ask us to get it too so I think its something you can take anytime but ideally start younger so they are protected from a young age. You didn't give your kids Pneumococal? That's optional too and very costly.

Alice, I didnt know putting hands in mouth can can cause Hep A. H likes to bite her nails. I guess if that's true, I'll need to traumatise her one more time.. sigh.. heart pain. She sometimes will get fever after jabs, sometimes she won't, so I don't really know.
