My boy is driving us up the wall

Don't know what is wrong with Zac. Since last week (ie since we've placed him at the babysitter's), he's been very difficult. Every time after his feeds he will be a smiley and happy baby but 1 hour down the road he showed signs of sleepiness but then will not sleep and keeps screaming and shouting (without tears), like sounds of protests! Unless we carry him, he just won't stop. I really miss my old Zac :-(

We've tried rocking him in the bassinet, we've tried carrying and rocking him manually, we've tried the sarong (this works only sometimes) and we even tried putting him on his tummy and patting him... but most of it won't work. He will scream and shout until he gets so tired that he finally falls asleep.

Could it be that the babysitter carried him too much at her place?

Well she did complain to me that he's very difficult to handle. He keeps crying when he's sleepy but just won't go to sleep (she said the same thing to me everyday!).

What is wrong with my boy la? What is it that he wants? Haiz... I am going insane soon.

i think he is not used to the new environment. the care-giver may be carrying him a lot to avoid crying. depending what u want to do...give some time or do some drastic strategies like cry.

Oh dear. sounds like u are so stressed! Probably d change of environment may be making Zac cranky and fussy? Just hang on. Only time can get little Zac to the routine. In d mean time...impt to keep ur self calm and sanity in tact...
Btw, does little Zac like baby programmes/ any particular music to attract him??

Screaming and shouting... hrm, tummy ache?! Warm?! Or any discomfort?!!

LOL, separation anxiety and protest at such young age, not surprising!;D

p/s: Yeah, a warm bath, massage and soft music might help.(Who knows) All the best!

Could it be colic? Jared and Jaden had colic in their 2nd month after the confinement ladies left. They cried for no reason and just wanted to be cuddled.

LittleLamb, the bbsitter said she didn't carry him unless necessary. I really got no clue la.

Leona, he sometimes like a particular CD but sometimes he won't even watch it.. still hard to tell. I really hope he will settle down soon.

Ermayum, she said she didn't spoil him. I hope she's not lying.

Alice, if he's got tummy ache, how come he will keep quiet when we carry him? It happens everytime after he's had milk and trying to go to sleep.

Treasure Memories, how do I tell if a baby has colic? He's still taking breast milk fully although in a bottle. Avent bottles to prevent colic. I also started giving him gripe water once every night just to be safe.

Guess he just seeking for comfort.

Answer to your question re colic, normally the baby's tummy, palm and forehead tend to be colder thn usual! They'll just cry till you carry and comfort them.:)
