- he didn't have fever so there is no need to worry
- the swell is not tender and not red so it's not an infection
- it doesn't hurt when we touch or press it
He's got a bad case of cough, flu and phlegm in the last few weeks which might have cause some lymph nodes on his cheeks to swell (you know just like how our throat would sometimes swell if we have sore throat?!, yes like that)
They did however ask me to monitor for growth. Over the past few weeks (I think almost a month), it remained the same and this morning it does seem to look a little bit smaller - or maybe it was just psychological. Anyway, I have decided that if the swelling is still around this Friday, I am going to bring him back to his paediatrician at SDMC for a scan just to be sure.
See it for yourself and tell me if you'll be worried:

I would be worried too coz quite long already. But as u said, no pain and no fever. Get it checked and leave no stones unturned though.
Leona, berak also no time where got time to blog.. hehehe. I am really missing out a lot la, so many things not documented and all.. sigh....to blog means I really have to sacrifice sleep which I cannot :-). Yea lor, worried la, this weekend will get him checked out ($$ down the drain) if it doesn't get better.
looks normal to me but if its not mumps then what ye ? maybe he fall? sometime bengkak jatuh memang lembik and lambat jugak nak hilang but tak lembam eh? i will be worried so got to see dr from time to time

Alice, got wor, he's teething now. One lower incisor (left side) is out now. Will that cause swelling?

Hi Kiasumom. Definitely can sense your anxiety coz swollen lor....my mom used to worry my cheek look bigger on the left, but turned out nothing :P Hope he get well soon....my daughter got viral infection, sore throat...sian....sigh....
